J. Lee Powell
Lee Powell is the 4th generation of his family to lead Old Hickory Clay Company. He has been employed in a variety of capacities with Old Hickory since 1981. Lee has a background in mining, production, and operations. He has also been involved in coordinating Q.C., Sales & Marketing, and R & D over the course of his career. Lee was instrumental in the implementation of ISO 9000/9001 and later ISO 9001-2000 programs within the company, and continues to chair the Internal Quality Committee for Old Hickory. Lee graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1979 with a BBA degree, majoring in Management and Marketing. He later received an MBA emphasizing Management from Murray State University in 1986. Lee has served two terms as the President of the Ball Clay Producers Association. Lee is a former Chairman of the Industrial Minerals Association of North America.
Chief Operations Officer
Cheryl Lehmkuhl has over 30 years of experience in the mining and ball clay industry. She attended University of Tennessee – Martin, majoring in Business Management. Cheryl started her career with Old Hickory Clay Company as Plant Superintendent in Gleason, TN, then became Plant Superintendent at the Hickory, KY Plant, as well. She was promoted to the position of Operations Manager for Old Hickory’s operations in KY, TN, and GA. She currently holds the title of Chief Operations Officer for Old Hickory Clay Company.
Chief Financial Officer
Bill has been with Old Hickory for over 19 years in a variety of administrative, financial, and technology capacities. He has a BS in Computer Science, Associate Degree in Accounting from Freed-Hardeman University. He brings thirty years of experience in the computer technology and information systems field to his financial and IT responsibilities with OHCC. Bill oversees the company’s accounting operations and information technology on a multi-state basis.
Vice President of Sales
Bill Rogers has over 40 years of experience in production and sales of industrial raw materials with The Feldspar Corporation, Zemex Industrial Minerals, Inc., and NYCO Minerals, Inc., specializing in ceramics, glass and construction applications. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and an MBA degree from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the American Ceramic Society, American Concrete Institute and the Industrial Minerals Association – North America. He currently serves as Vice President of Sales at Old Hickory Clay Company, Hickory, KY
Logistics & Customer Service Manger
John has been taking care of orders and shipments for the last 26 of the nearly 30 years with Old Hickory Clay Company. After working in several positions at our Hickory KY plant early in his time with OHCC, he moved to the corporate office in his current position. Ken Bougher has been Technical Director at Old Hickory for 20 years. He brings more than 50 years of experience in the Ceramic industry with specialized knowledge of ball clays and kaolins to our management team. Particular expertise in the field of ceramic formulations with strong knowledge background of other ceramic grade materials is his specialty, featuring expertise in ceramic production troubleshooting and optimizing yields throughout the manufacturing process.
Ken also carries Sales and technical service experience on the international level with emphasis on Mexico, Central America and South America regions. He is an accomplished author and lecturer at technical seminars and client located employee educational programs.
He is an Emeritus Member of the American Ceramic Society &
Member of the National Institute of Ceramic Engineers.
Jason Enlow has a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. His primary work focus is mine and environmental permitting.
Jason also assists in mine planning using GPS equipment and drafting software to help coordinate drilling and overburden removal for future mining areas.
Francisco A. Planchart
Frank is running the Old Hickory Central Laboratories managing Quality Control, Exploration evaluation, and R & D functions. He has over 30 years experiences in the ceramic Industry from raw materials testing , lab equipment, customer services,and Technical sales rep , to Lab. Manager responsibilities.
Frank is fluent in Spanish & he has a BS degree in Applied Sciences, emphasizing Ceramics Technology ( Raw Materials, Testing, etc.).
